Receiving MP3 files with MSN Messenger 7 Final

I was a happy user of MSN newest MSN Messenger 7 Final. Suddenly just now my friend tries to send a MP3 song to me, an error came out and the file was cancelled.

"This file has been blocked because it is potentially unsafe."

I was like...

What the!!!!??? *grumbles*

So I went to Google to look for solution. I found out that the newest version of the messenger has a "feature" that filters out certain extensions.

Here's a solution to bypass the security measurement that prevents you from receiving certain files. (Only for WinXP with SP2!)

Download the file disable_msn_file_blocking.reg.zip, extract it, close your MSN messenger, patch the registry file, restart your computer and run MSN messenger again.

I'm not sure what's the side effects. It's not an official patch. So use it at your own risk!

P.S. You can also try Mess.be patch which I think is more safer + tons of other features.
